Ideals of equality

Equality is a complex notion and many distinctions need to be drawn in order to clarify the myriad disputes that occur over the nature and value of different forms of equality. This collection of articles, which grew out of the third annual Ratio conference held at The University of Reading in April 1996, makes some of the necessary distinctions, and contributes to various on-going debates concerning the value of different forms of equality.
